A Gol Boeing 737-700, registration PR-GEK performing flight G3-2020 from Brasilia,DF to Boa Vista,RR (Brazil) with 130 people on board, was climbing out of Brasilia's runway 29R when the crew stopped the climb at FL080 reporting they could not retract the landing gear and advising that both gear indications still showed all green, no assistance was needed on the ground. The aircraft entered a hold to burn off fuel and returned to Brasilia for a safe landing on runway 29L about 2:20 hours after departure.

A replacement Boeing 737-700 registration PR-GEA reached Boa Vista with a delay of 14 hours.

The airline reported the aircraft could not retract the landing gear, burned off fuel and returned to Brasilia, there was no state of emergency at all.

The occurrence aircraft was able to resume service about 12.5 hours after landing back.
