A TACA Airbus A320-200, registration N493TA performing flight TA-920/AV-6648 from Rio de Janeiro Galeao,RJ (Brazil) to Lima (Peru), was enroute at FL340 about 240nm westnorthwest of Campo Grande,MS (Brazil) when the crew decided to turn around and divert. The aircraft climbed to FL350 and diverted to Sao Paulo Guarulhos, SP (Brazil), where the aircraft landed safely about 110 minutes later.

A passenger reported the captain told them they suspected a fuel leak and they were diverting to Sao Paulo. Their group of 4 had to cancel their trip to Peru as result of the delays and lost connections.
