A Delta Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-88, registration N911DE performing flight DL-724 from Buffalo,NY to Detroit,MI (USA) with 65 passengers and 5 crew, landed on Detroit's runway 21L, tower reported RVR at 4000 and braking action medium first two thirds and poor last third of runway. The aircraft slowed safely at 16:33Z. While attempting to vacate the runway onto taxiway T the aircraft slid off paved surface and became disabled within the runway protected area. Tower instructed the next aircraft on final approach to go around. The crew reported, everybody on board was fine, they were doing just about 2-3 knots but the brakes weren't working.

The airline reported all passengers deplaned safely and were taken to the terminal.
