A Centurion Air Cargo Boeing 747-400 on behalf of Sky Lease Cargo, registration N902AR performing flight GG-4852 from Miami,FL (USA) to Amsterdam (Netherlands), departed Miami's runway 08L and was climbing out when another aircraft waiting for departure reported a panel fell off the aircraft during departure, the Centurion crew acknowledged. ATC closed runway 08L due to the foreign objects on the runway. The aircraft stopped the climb at 5000 feet and returned to Miami for a safe landing on runway 08R about 14 minutes after departure.

The FAA reported the aircraft dropped an engine (CF6) cowl, which fell onto the runway.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 34 hours, then departed and reached Amsterdam with a delay of about 34 hours.
