A Centurion Air Cargo McDonnell Douglas MD-11, registration N984AR performing freight flight WE-4855 from Barcelona,SP (Spain) to Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), was on approach to Santo Domingo descending through about 10,000 feet when the crew received a #2 engine (CF6) fire indication, actioned the relevant checklist shutting the engine down and discharging one bottle of the fire suppression system and continued the approach to Santo Domingo for a safe landing. Responding emergency services found no visible engine damage or trace of fire.

The aircraft is still in Santo Domingo about 21 hours after landing.
