A Germanwings Airbus A330-200, registration D-AXGA performing flight 4U-585 from Palma Mallorca,SP (Spain) to Cologne/Bonn (Germany), was climbing out of Palma Mallorca when the crew detected a leak in one of the hydraulic systems and shut the system down. The crew continued the flight to Cologne, on descent towards Cologne requested a tow to be available after landing as they would have no nose wheel steering. The aircraft landed safely on Cologne's runway 14L and stopped on the runway. The aircraft was towed to the apron.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 25.5 hours, then resumed service.
