A Swiss International Airlines Airbus A320-200 on behalf of Edelweiss Air, registration HB-IJF performing flight EDW-405/LX-8405 from Pristina (Kosovo) to Zurich (Switzerland), was in the initial climb out of Pristina's runway 17 when an engine (CFM56) ingested a bird prompting the crew to level off at 7000 feet and return to Pristina for a safe landing on runway 17 about 15 minutes after departure.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 25.5 hours, then positioned to Zurich and resumed service out of Zurich.
