Database Corruption in Reader Comments fixed

I noticed a database corruption in the reader comment database today which resulted in "internal server error" messages when comments were posted - the comments were added to the database however (several readers retried posting their comments upon that error message and thus posted multiple copies). The database updates were incomplete however further aggravating the problem.

The problem probably began a good while ago, first infrequently until the database corruption had grown as extensive as to affect every write operation to the database.

Posting comments was therefore not possible for about one hour tonight while I was repairing the database.

I have just regenerated the entire database, as far as I am aware we did not lose any reader comment (the number of records in the old and new database are identical), the database is now working again.

My apologies for any inconvenience caused.
