An Air Canada Airbus A320-200, registration C-FFWI performing flight AC-1169 from Toronto,ON to Calgary,AB (Canada) with 148 people on board, was climbing out of Toronto when the crew stopped the climb at 6000 feet due to receiving a "DOOR L FWD CABIN" ECAM message, the pressurization remained normal. The crew requested emergency services on standby due to possible hot brakes after landing. The aircraft returned to Toronto for a safe landing about 40 minutes after departure.

The Canadian TSB reported the crew declared PAN due to an overweight landing after receiving the ECAM "DOOR L FWD CABIN" message. Maintenance replaced the L1 slide door warning light.
