A Transavia Boeing 737-800, registration PH-HXC performing flight HV-9688 from Venice (Italy) to Munich (Germany), was in the initial climb out of Venice's runway 04R when the crew stopped the climb at 4000 feet due to an open door indication and returned to Venice for a safe landing on runway 04R about 10 minutes after departure.

The aircraft remained on the ground for 50 minutes, then departed again and reached Munich with a total delay of 80 minutes.

A passenger reported it became clear something wasn't right when the aircraft remained at low altitude, the captain soon announced that a door wasn't closing properly and they would return to Venice to have this checked. The aircraft taxied to the apron, the passengers were asked to remain on board while maintenance worked on the problem and the aircraft was refueled. The aircraft departed again about an hour after landing.
