A Nordstar Boeing 737-800, registration VQ-BPM performing flight Y7-247 from Krasnojarsk to Norilsk (Russia) with 168 passengers and 6 crew, was enroute at FL340 about 150nm northnorthwest of Krasnojarsk when the crew initiated a descent to FL080, turning around into the descent and returning to Krasnojarsk for a safe landing on runway 11 about 80 minutes after leaving FL340.

The West Siberian Transport Prosecution Office reported the aircraft returned due to a cracked windshield.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration VQ-BKR reached Norilsk with a delay of 10 hours.
