An ASL Airlines Belgium Boeing 737-400, registration OE-IAJ performing flight 3V-587 (callsign TAY-587) from Tunis (Tunisia) to Malta (Malta) with 2 crew, was on approach to Malta when the crew stopped the descent at 3000 feet reporting problems with the nose gear. The aircraft entered a hold and landed safely on Malta's runway 31 about 30 minutes after stopping the descent.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Malta about 12 hours after landing.

The aircraft is currently registered on the Austrian registry with the operator TNT Airways in Belgium. Austria delegated the supervision, both technical and operational, to Belgium between Sep 14th 2015 and Sep 1st 2016. The aircraft operates in the colours of ASL Airlines. TNT Airways was taken over by ASL Aviation Group in 2016 and rebranded to ASL Airlines Belgium.
