A Smartwings Boeing 737-800, registration OK-TVP performing flight QS-1153 from Malaga,SP (Spain) to Prague (Czech Republic) with 154 passengers and 6 crew, was enroute at FL380 about 50nm southwest of Lyon (France) when the crew observed indications of an oil leak for the left hand engine (CFM56), declared PAN, shut the engine down and drifted down to FL250. The aircraft diverted to Lyon for a safe landing on Lyon's runway 18R. Following the shut down the engine oil quantity continued to decrease and fell to zero.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration OK-TVY was dispatched to Lyon, continued the flight the next morning and reached Prague with a delay of 10.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground 19 hours after landing.
