A Copa Airlines Boeing 737-700, registration HP-1373CMP performing flight CM-821 (dep Apr 12th) from Panamy City (Panama) to Porto Alegre,RS (Brazil), aborted the approach to Porto Alegre's runway 11 due to a flaps asymmetry and entered a holding to work the relevant checklists. The crew was unable to resolve the problem and decided to land with flaps at 15 degrees. The aircraft touched down safely on runway 11 at a higher than normal speed about 40 minutes after aborting the first approach. The aircraft was able to depart for the return flight about 5 hours after landing and reached Panama City with a delay of 4 hours.
