An Air Carnival Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A, registration VT-CMA performing flight S2-111 from Chennai to Madurai (India) with 39 people on board, was climbing out of Chennai when the crew decided to return to Chennai for a safe landing about 30 minutes after departure.

The airport reported the aircraft returned due to an "air pressure leak".
