A Jetblue Embraer ERJ-190, registration N329JB performing flight B6-1131 from Charleston,SC to Fort Lauderdale,FL (USA), was climbing out of Charleston when the crew stopped the climb at about 17,000 feet reporting an odour and light haze in the cabin. The aircraft returned to Charleston for a safe landing about 17 minutes after departure.

Passengers reported smoke was coming from the air conditioning vents.

A replacement ERJ-190 registration N281JB reached Fort Lauderdale with a delay of 4:15 hours.
