An ANA All Nippon Airways de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration JA845A performing flight NH-1899 from Aomori to Sapporo (Japan) with 41 people on board, was enroute when a strange odour was noticed in the cabin. The crew subsequently decided to shut the right hand engine (PW150) down and continued to Sapporo for a safe landing.

The airline reported an engine failure.
