A Vueling Airbus A320-200, registration EC-MBL performing flight VY-7574 from Barcelona,SP (Spain) to Banjul (Gambia) with 110 passengers, was enroute at FL340 about 40nm west of Gibraltar (Gibraltar) when the crew decided to turn around and divert to Malaga,SP (Spain) due to a hydraulic failure. The aircraft landed safely on Malaga's runway 31 about 30 minutes later.

A replacement Airbus A320-200 registration EC-MJB positioned to Malaga and returned the passengers to Barcelona as flight VY-757R. The passengers were rebooked onto flight VY-7574 the following day.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for 13 hours, then resumed service.
