A KLM Boeing 737-800, registration PH-BXA performing flight KL-1801 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Munich (Germany), was climbing through about FL140 out of Amsterdam when the crew requested to descend back to FL100 and return to Schiphol Airport due to a technical problem, they had everything under control and no assistance was needed. The aircraft positioned for an approach back to Amsterdam and landed safely on runway 27 about 20 minutes after departure.

A passenger reported the crew announced they would return to Amsterdam due to a cabin pressurization problem. They had considered to continue to destination at a lower level but there was insufficient fuel on board.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration PH-BXI reached Munich with a delay of 2 hours.
