A Flybe de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration G-KKEV performing flight BE-1048 from Aberdeen,SC to Manchester,EN (UK) with 52 people on board, departed Aberdeen with a delay of 55 minutes. The aircraft was descending towards Manchester when the crew requested to enter a hold reporting they had a hydraulic leak. The crew performed an alternate gear extension and landed safely with a total delay of 82 minutes. The aircraft was towed to the apron.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground 24 hours later.

A passenger reported maintenance worked on the right hand engine fixing a hydraulic problem prior to departure. The aircraft subsequently departed, but near Manchester the crew announced they were experiencing a hydraulic problem again. After landing the aircraft turned off the runway but got stuck on the taxiway next to the runway surrounded by emergency services until the aircraft was towed to the apron.
