A West Air Sweden British Aerospace BAe ATP, registration SE-LPX performing postal flight SWN-81B from Bodo to Oslo (Norway), was enroute at FL160 about 20 minutes out of Oslo when the right hand engine (PW126) experienced severe vibrations, emitted bangs and failed. The crew shut the engine and continued to Oslo's Gardermoen Airport for a safe landing.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Oslo about 24 hours after landing.
