An AirExplore Boeing 737-400 on behalf of Monarch Airlines, registration OM-AEX performing flight ZB-958 from Birmingham,EN (UK) to Palma Mallorca,SP (Spain), was enroute at FL380 about 140nm north of Limoges (France) when the crew initiated an emergency descent reaching FL130 about 7 minutes later (average rate of descent about 3600 fpm) and diverted to Limoges for a safe landing about 30 minutes after leaving FL380.

A replacement Privilege Style Boeing 757-200 registration EC-HDS was dispatched from Madrid,SP (Spain) to Limoges and is currently descending towards Limoges. The aircraft is currently estimated to reach Palma with a delay of 10 hours.

The incident aircraft departed Limoges about 3 hours after landing and positioned back to Birmingham at FL240.
