An Onur Air Airbus A330-300, registration TC-OCA performing flight 8Q-802 (Callsign OHY804) from Berlin Schoenefeld (Germany) to Nuremberg (Germany) with about 300 people on board and further on to Antalya (Turkey), landed safely on runway 28 at 01:20L (23:20Z Apr 28th), rolled out and turned off the runway at taxiway E. While joining taxiway F the right main gear went off paved surface and became stuck in soft ground disabling the aircraft.

An airport spokesman reported the aircraft departed the runway on rollout with the right hand main gear that sunk into soft ground. The statement resulted in all German media reporting a runway excursion.

Radar data show the aircraft turned off the runway at taxiway E about 2,270 meters/7500 feet down the runway then attempted to join taxiway F parallel to the runway towards the terminal. The radar data suggest however, that the aircraft turned right onto a westerly heading on taxiway F (away from the terminal) instead of turning left towards the terminal. During that turn to the right the right main gear went off paved surface.

The aircraft was subsequently towed back onto paved surface, the recovery was completed by about 05:00L (03:00Z).
