An Onur Air Airbus A321-200, registration TC-OBZ performing flight 8Q-877 from Antalya (Turkey) to Chelyabinsk (Russia) with 226 passengers and 8 crew, was enroute at FL340 about 60nm southwest of Volgograd (Russia) when the crew initiated an emergency descent due to the loss of cabin pressure, the passenger oxygen masks were released. The aircraft levelled off at FL100 about 8 minutes later and diverted to Volgograd for a safe landing about 22 minutes after leaving FL340.

A replacement A321-200 registration TC-OBJ was dispatched to Volgograd, resumed the flight and reached Chelyabinsk with a delay of about 12 hours.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Volgograd for about 16 hours, then positioned back to Istanbul's Ataturk Airport (Turkey).
