An Air Inuit Boeing 737-200, registration C-GAIG performing flight 3H-353 from Winnipeg,MB to Trenton,ON (Canada), was in the initial climb out of Winnipeg when the landing gear did not retract. The crew stopped the climb at about 4000 feet and returned to Winnipeg for a safe landing about 15 minutes after departure.

The Canadian TSB reported frozen slush had accumulated on the nose ski preventing the gear from retracting. The slush was removed and an overweight landing inspection carried out.

The aircraft was able to depart about 2 hours later, but then needed to divert to Ottawa.
