A United Boeing 757-200, registration N19117 performing flight UA-76 from Belfast Aldergrove,NI (UK) to Newark,NJ (USA) with 160 passengers, was climbing out of Belfast's runway 07 (length 2,780 meters/9,120 feet) when the crew stopped the climb at FL070 reporting a hydraulic failure. The crew subsequently decided to divert to Manchester,EN (UK), climbed the aircraft to FL090 enroute to Manchester and landed safely in Manchester about 90 minutes after departure.

The airline reported a mechanical issue as cause of the precautionary diversion.
