A Spirit Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration N632NK performing flight NK-185 from Cleveland,OH to Los Angeles,CA (USA), completed what appeared to be an uneventful flight.

When the aircraft was being prepared for its next scheduled flight NK-709 to Detroit,MI (USA) the flight crew discovered damage to the leading edge of the horizontal stabilizer during the preflight walk around. The aircraft was removed from service, flight NK-709 was cancelled.

The FAA rated the occurrence an incident reporting unknown damage to the leading edge of the horizontal stabilizer.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for 16.5 hours, then positioned to Fort Lauderdale,FL (USA) and resumed service from Fort Lauderdale 9 hours after landing there.
