A Germanwings/Eurowings Airbus A320-200, registration D-AIPU performing flight 4U-343 from Manchester,EN (UK) to Cologne/Bonn (Germany), was enroute near London when strong mouldy fumes occurred in both cabin and flightdeck prompting at least one of the flight crew to don the oxygen mask. The crew considered to divert to London Stansted,EN (UK) but decided to continue to Cologne, 25 minutes more flying time. The aircraft landed safely on Cologne's runway 14L with at least one of the pilots still using the oxygen mask. Cabin and Flight crew were subsequently taken to a hospital for checks.

Germany's BFU confirmed they received information about that incident, the cockpit voice and the flight data recorder have been secured and are being processed, further information is being collected before a classification of the occurrence is being made.

Germanwings told The Aviation Herald: "Wir haben den Vorfall der zuständigen Behörde gemeldet." (We have reported the occurrence to the responsible authority).
