An Air Zimbabwe Boeing 767-200, registration Z-WPF performing flight UM-467 from Harare (Zimbabwe) to Johannesburg (South Africa), was descending towards Johannesburg when water from the right middle lavatory entered the aircraft cabin subsequently triggering media reports of smelly toilet waste running through the cabin. The aircraft continued to Johannesburg for a safe landing.

The airline condemned media reports of a toilet leak stating it was impossible toilet waste could be leaked into the cabin due to the pressure differential used. The airline however explained that the water pipe of a wash basin in the right hand middle lavatory could not be turned off anymore, the basin overflowed, therefore fresh, clean water entered the aircraft cabin. Eventually a mechanics on board managed to isolate the water supply to the lavatory.
