A Delta Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration N324US performing flight DL-2032 from Minneapolis,MN to Saint Louis,MO (USA) with 145 passengers and 5 crew, was enroute at FL310 about 50nm northwest of Cedar Rapids,IA when the crew reported an engine failure, requested to descend and to return to Minneapolis. Air Traffic Control cleared the aircraft to descend to FL230 (tell me if you can't maintain) and offered De Moines,IA, Cedar Rapids,IA and Davenport,IA for diversion, the crew decided to divert to Cedar Rapids, where the aircraft landed safely on runway 09 about 20 minutes after leaving FL310.

A replacement A320-200 reached Saint Louis with a delay of 5.5 hours.
