An Air Baltic Boeing 737-300, registration YL-BBL performing flight BT-211 from Riga (Latvia) to Berlin Tegel (Germany) with 59 passengers and 5 crew, was descending towards Berlin when the aircraft encountered severe clear air turbulence causing injuries to two passengers and a flight attendant. The aircraft continued for a safe landing at Tegel Airport. The passenger with serious injuries (fractured leg) was taken to a hospital, the other injured were treated at the airport.

The return flight BT-212 was cancelled, the aircraft positioned back to Riga as flight BT-212.
