A Jetblue Airbus A320-200, registration N784JB performing flight B6-552 from Fort Meyers,FL to Newark,NJ (USA) with 152 people on board, was climbing through about 2000 feet out of Fort Meyers' runway 06 when the crew reported they had a bird strike resulting in a compressor stall of the right hand engine (V2527). The aircraft levelled off at 3000 feet, turned for an extended downwind and landed safely on runway 06 about 25 minutes after departure and vacated the runway.

The flight was cancelled. The passengers were refunded or rebooked onto other flights.
