A Thomson Airways Boeing 737-800, registration G-FDZG performing flight BY-6555 from Tenerife South,CI (Spain) to Cardiff,WL (UK), was on approach to Cardiff when the crew entered a hold at 4000 feet MSL reporting a problem with the flaps. The crew subsequently reported they needed to land at a higher than normal speed and prepared for a flaps up landing on runway 30. The aircraft touched down on runway 30, speed over ground about 190 knots, slowed safely and came to a stop just short of the runway end. Following checks by emergency services the aircraft vacated the runway at the last taxiway B1 and taxied to the apron, where passengers disembarked normally.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for 18 hours.

The airline confirmed a technical issue.
