A Flybe de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration G-JECM performing flight BE-803 from Newquay,EN to London Gatwick,EN (UK), was accelerating for takeoff from Newquay when a sea gull impacted the aircraft prompting the crew to reject takeoff. The aircraft returned to the apron.

A replacement Dash 8-400 registration G-JECO reached Gatwick with a delay of 2 hours.

The airline confirmed takeoff was rejected as a precaution following a bird strike.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Newquay 26 hours after rejecting takeoff.
