An Alitalia Airbus A321-100, registration EI-IXH performing flight AZ-319 from Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) to Rome Fiumicino (Italy), was climbing through FL250 when the crew needed to shut the right hand engine (CFM56) down due to the failure of the engine. The aircraft returned to Paris Charles de Gaulle for a safe landing about 30 minutes after departure.
