A Norwegian Air Shuttle Boeing 737-800, registration LN-NGG performing flight DY-3351 from Chania (Greece) to Copenhagen (Denmark), was enroute near Bratislava (Slovakia) in contact with Bratislava, when Bratislava Center wanted to hand the aircraft off to Warsaw Center, however did not receive a reply. The aircraft continued, while ATC tried to raise the crew on emergency frequency 121.5MHz and contacted the airline who sent an ACARS message to the crew. The crew of another company aircraft finally reached the crew on 121.5MHz and advised they should contact Warsaw Center, at which point communication was fully restored. The aircraft continued for a safe landing in Copenhagen.

Poland's PKWBL (Accident Investigation Board) reported that they involved Norway's AIBN and received statement, that the crew had been awake, frequency 121.5MHz was tuned, however, they had not received any communication. The ACARS message by the company arrived 30 minutes after the company aircraft had contacted them instructing them to contact Warsaw Center. When the company aircraft called it was loud and clear. The captain wrote : "it is a mistery for us and I have no reasonable explanation for it".

The PKWBL reported the cause of the occurrence was not determined.
