A Norwegian Air Shuttle Boeing 737-800, registration LN-NIP performing flight DY-430 from Oslo to Molde (Norway) with 165 passengers and 6 crew, landed on Molde's runway 25 at 19:03L (18:03Z) but overran the end of the runway by about 150 meters (500 feet) past the end of the runway and about 15 meters (50 feet) short of the sea. The aircraft was evacuated via slides. No injuries are being reported.

The airline reported the aircraft went off the runway due to weather conditions, strong winds and slippery runway.

A passenger reported it appeared the aircraft touched down late, skidded off the runway and nearly fell into the sea. Some people were trying to evacuate with their luggage. Emergency services responded and arrived for assistance during the evacuation.

Norway's AIBN have opened an investigation.

On Dec 20th 2024 the AIBN rated the occurrence a serious incident and reported: "When a Norwegian flight with flight number DY430 was landing at Molde Airport in a westerly direction, the aircraft entered a snow squall at an altitude of between 50 and 100 ft. After landing, the commander noticed that it was slippery and experienced that the aircraft had poor braking effect. At the end of the runway, it hit a runway light before coming to a stop near the sea approximately 10 meters after the runway's asphalt edge. All passengers and crew evacuated the aircraft on the left side and there were no injuries."
