A United Airbus A320-200, registration N418UA performing flight UA-350 from Newark,NJ (USA) to Nassau (Bahamas) with 153 people on board, was climbing out of Newark when the crew reported a hydraulic failure and stopped the climb at 17,000 feet. After consulting with dispatch the crew decided to return to Newark, burned off fuel for an hour, landed safely back on Newark's runway 22R about 2 hours after departure and vacated the runway.

The flight was cancelled.
