An Air France Airbus A320-200, registration F-GKXN performing flight AF-1194 from Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) to Lisbon (Portugal), was on approach to Lisbon's runway 03 about to intercept the localizer when the crew called "Mayday, Mayday, Mayday" reporting a very strong electrical burning smell in the cabin and requested emergency services to meet the aircraft on the runway. The aircraft intercepted the localizer and landed safely on runway 03 about 5 minutes later.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 2:15 hours, then was able to depart for the return flight AF-1195.
