A United Boeing 737-800, registration N77258 performing flight UA-1597 from San Juan (Puerto Rico) to Washington Dulles,DC (USA), was descending through about FL300 towards Washington when the aircraft encountered turbulence causing injuries to a number of occupants. The crew requested medical services to meet the aircraft at the gate reporting, that they were told about a broken ankle, several cuts and bruises, several people were bleeding and a number of additional injuries without further details. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 01R and taxied to the gate, where medical services took care of the injured.

The airline reported a passenger and two flight attendants were taken to a hospital for further assessment.

On Jul 13th 2015 the FAA reported the aircraft was descending through FL305 when the aircraft encountered turbulence resulting in three passengers receiving minor injuries.
