A Tigerair Airbus A320-200, registration 9V-TAP performing flight TR-2934 from Singapore (Singapore) to Haikou (China) with 178 people on board, departed Singapore's runway 20C and was enroute about 40 minutes into the flight when the airline's operations center received a fax indicating that tyre debris attributed to TR-2934 had been found on the runway at Singapore. The aircraft continued to Haikou. Emergency services were called on stand by for the arrival of the aircraft in Haikou. Following three low approaches the aircraft landed safely at Haikou about 3 hours later, the right hand main inboard tyre was found damaged missing its tread.
