The southern runway 08R/26L was closed for about an hour until all dead birds were cleaned off the runway.
A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration D-ABML reached Cologne with a delay of 110 minutes.
A ground observer reported the engine sounded like a propeller aircraft. Another ground observer J. Lorenz took a photo and commented that the exhaust of the right hand engine looked reshaped (widened).
