A Jetblue Embraer ERJ-190, registration N334JB performing flight B6-408 from New York JFK,NY to Portland,ME (USA) with 98 passengers and 4 crew, was on final approach to Portland's runway 11 when the crew went around reporting a slat failure and requested to enter a hold to work the related checklists. The crew subsequently declared emergency and requested to divert to Boston,MA (USA), where longer runways were available. The aircraft landed safely on Boston's runway 22L about 50 minutes after aborting the approach to Portland.

A replacement Embraer ERJ-190 registration N206JB reached Portland with a delay of 2.5 hours.

Maintenance identified a computer issue, the occurrence aircraft was able to resume service about 13 hours after landing in Boston.
