An Etihad Airbus A320-200, registration A6-EIG performing flight EY-262 from Peshawar (Pakistan) to Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), was climbing out of Peshawar's runway 17 when the right hand engine (V2527) ingested a bird prompting the crew to return to Peshawar, where the aircraft landed safely about 30 minutes after departure.

A passenger reported the right hand engine ingested a bird prompting the crew to return to Peshawar. The right hand engine emitted unusual loud noise, the aircraft landed about 30 minutes after departure. There was visible damage to the right hand engine's fan blades.

The flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.
