A Jetblue Embraer ERJ-190, registration N273JB performing flight B6-341 from Saint Croix (Virgin Islands) to San Juan (Puerto Rico) with 74 passengers and 4 crew, was climbing out of Saint Croix's runway 10 with a delay of about 1.5 hours when the right hand engine (CF34) ingested a bird over the Anguilla landfill just east of the airport prompting the crew to stop the climb at about 5000 feet and return to Saint Croix for a safe landing on runway 10 about 10 minutes after departure.

The aircraft was able to depart Saint Croix about 3.5 hours after landing and reached San Juan with a delay of 4:45 hours.

The aircraft remained on the ground in San Juan for about 12 hours before resuming service.
