A Mesa Airlines Canadair CRJ-900 on behalf of US Airways, registration N905J performing flight YV-5634/US-5634 from Austin,TX to Charlotte,NC (USA) with 55 passengers and 4 crew, was climbing out of Austin's runway 17R when the crew reported they received a gear disagree message upon selecting the gear up and the gear not retracting. The gear was still down and locked. The aircraft stopped the climb at 10,000 feet and returned to Austin for a safe landing on runway 17R about 30 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled.
