A Mesa Airlines Embraer ERJ-175 on behalf of United, registration N85323 performing flight UA-6321 from Washington Dulles,DC to Savannah,GA (USA), was climbing out of Washington when the left hand engine's oil temperature exceeded limits prompting the crew to shut the engine down. The aircraft returned to Dulles for a safe landing on runway 01R about 40 minutes after departure.

Emergency services were deployed with the information "Aircraft Fire".

The aircraft is still on the ground in Washington about 8 hours after landing back.
