A Sunwing Boeing 737-800, registration C-FLSW performing flight WG-585 from Vancouver,BC (Canada) to Cancun (Mexico), was enroute when the crew received a "Stab out of trim" indication, declared PAN and continued to destination.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance inspected and tested the system but did not identify any anomaly. The aircraft was returned to service.

The aircraft departed for flight WG-586 to Vancouver and was enroute, when the crew again received the "Stab out of trim" indication, declared PAN again and continued to Vancouver for a safe landing.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance performed a BITE test and identified the stab trim motor (STM) as source of the fault. The STM was replaced, the system tested and the aircraft returned to service.

On Jan 18th the aircraft departed for flight WG-597 to Cancun and was enroute when the crew again received a "Stab out of trim" indication, declared Mayday and continued to destination for a safe landing.

The Canadian TSB reported that maintenance replaced the flight control computer as well as the STM and returned the aircraft to service. During the pre flight checks for the next flight the crew noticed the trim would not work if a nose up trim was commanded from either captain's or first officer's yoke, while the nose down trim would work normally (the TSB annotated that the pre flight checks were reported okay on the previous two flights). Maintenance went into troubleshooting again and identified a trailing edge flap limit switch (S245) at fault. The switch was replaced. The TSB concluded the report that there were no further occurrences during the next flights of the aircraft.
