A Swiss Airbus A330-300, registration HB-JHC performing flight LX-243 from Muscat (Oman) to Dubai (United Arab Emirates), was on approach to Dubai descending through about 4000 feet when the crew aborted the approach due to receiving two lightning strikes and returned to Muscat for a safe landing about 40 minutes after aborting the approach to Dubai.

The flight was cancelled.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Muscat 17 hours after landing.
