A Vietnam Airlines Airbus A321-200, registration VN-A390 performing flight VN-350 from Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) to Fukuoka (Japan) with 184 people on board, was enroute at FL330 about 150nm south of Hong Kong (China) when the crew decided to divert to Hong Kong for a safe landing about 30 minutes later.

The airline reported a malfunction of a ventilation system prompted the crew to divert to Hong Kong.

A replacement Airbus A321-200 registration VN-A363 reached Fukuoka with a delay of 12:15 hours.
